Reunification Therapy

Find A Provider

Court ordered vs. Court Involved

At Thriving Families, we provide both Court-Ordered and Court-Involved Reunification Therapy to support families in rebuilding healthy relationships.

A Court-Ordered Reunification occurs when a judge issues a formal court order designating a specific therapist to work with the family. This ensures that the reunification process follows the court’s directives and therapeutic best practices.

We also offer Court-Involved Reunification Therapy for families who are involved in legal proceedings but do not have a formal court order. Being court-involved typically means that you are, or have been, engaged in matters such as divorce, custody disputes, domestic violence concerns, or protection orders.

The process

Here at Thriving Families, William Walker does our Reunification Services.

William provides education and support to parents who are currently involved with the court system. His goal is to strengthen parent–child relationships and facilitate healthy reunification between the child and parent.

To begin Reunification Services, an intake form must be completed for both the parent and the child.

Following the intake process, initial appointments will be scheduled for each party — Parent A, Parent B, and the child(ren). These sessions are conducted individually to allow each participant to share their perspective in a private and supportive setting.

Once all initial sessions are complete, William will coordinate with all parties to schedule ongoing reunification sessions at times that are convenient for everyone. Future sessions will proceed in accordance with the court order or in a manner that best supports the needs and progress of the family.

The Goal

The Goal of Reunification or Reintegration Therapy is to reunify a child with their parent. The intention is to mend strained relationships between a child and a parent often arising in situations of divorce, abuse, or neglect. The circumstance of Reunification may very, but in some cases Reunification may be necessary.

The Cost

Please note that insurance does not cover Reunification Therapy services.

Each session is billed at $200. At the start of services, an $800 retainer is required. This retainer covers the initial sessions for each parent and the child, as well as one reunification session.

If communication or coordination outside of scheduled appointments is necessary (for example, with attorneys, court representatives, or other professionals), these services will be billed based on the time and work involved.

Once the retainer has been fully used, future sessions will be billed at the time of each appointment. This process ensures that billing matters do not interrupt or delay the reunification process.
